LBL BY SPRAY COATING

TECHNOLOGY

The Electrostatic Self Assembly Multilayer (ESAM) method can be modified to accelerate the deposition process. Instead of immersing the substrate in different anionic and cationic aqueous solutions, these solutions can be sprayed with a high-pressure sprayer, which reduces the coating time from several minutes to a few seconds.

In order to automatize the spraying, an electro-pneumatic system is required to control the activation and deactivation of each sprayer, in addition to a mechanism that provides movement to the spray nozzles or to the substrate.
